The Guitarras Romero 1a Especial is made in Spain in the custom shop at Alhambra Guitars, lead by master Luthier Javier Mengual, to Pepe Romero Jr's specifications. This is not a factory made guitar, but is built in small batches of 6 or less at a time by a true master builder in the custom shop. It features all top grade solid wood construction, a cedar top, rosewood body, ebony fingerboard, rosewood bridge, 650mm scale, 52mm nut, a 7 fan bracing Torres style system, polyurethane finish and a slim neck profile similar to the Madrid school of guitar building. This guitar is made for the Pro level player who demands a professional level guitar, full of warmth, sustain, power and overtones, in the $4500 price range.
